In the late 90s and early 2000s, it didn't get much bigger than NBC's "Must-See TV." The television network's Thursday night lineup dominated with hits like Seinfeld, ER, Friends and Will & Grace.

The latter averaged 17 million viewers each week with a little over 18 million watching the finale in 2006.

The cast, which featured East Greenwich, Rhode Island native Debra Messing, became household names. Messing played lead Grace Adler for all 246 episodes.

What Did Debra Messing Take From the Set?

Messing and her co-stars brought the laughs year after year thanks to co-creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. The original eight seasons ran from 1998 to 2006.

"The last week, Max and Dave said 'What do you want?' and I said I want the door and they're like 'Absolutely, take it,'" Messing said.

The door she's referring to is the one to her office which read "Grace Adler Designs." She happily took it.

"Two days later, someone from NBC called and said 'That will be $250 for the wood,'" Messing recalled. "If I hadn't taken it, they would have used it on another show."

Messing was asked if she sent the check for $250 to the studio. Her response?

"I said 'F you,'" Messing told Cohen. "I made you literally billions of dollars and you are charging me $250."

Their response?

"They backed off," Messing said.
