Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk animals.

There are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast waiting for a place to call home. Thanks to the help of local shelters, these animals have a fighting chance, but they shouldn't have to grow old in the shelter.

Every week, we spotlight one lucky animal in hopes of finding them a forever home, but this week, there is a pair of dogs that we hope to keep together as we search for the perfect family.

Meet Sport and Frieda. Sport and Frieda are six-year-old German Shepherds currently residing at Fairhaven Animal Shelter in Fairhaven.

These two are inseparable.

"They absolutely love each other," the shelter said.

The goal is to find a family willing to take in both Sport and Frieda. Both dogs don't do well with other animals, but when it comes to each other, they are attached at the hip.

Their previous owners loved them dearly, but after succumbing to health issues, they were forced to give up Sport and Frieda to the shelter.

"We are hoping that Wet Nose Wednesday will work its magic and find a home for them," said the shelter.
