Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! It's the best day of the week because we shine a light on lovable animals that are up for adoption on the SouthCoast.

Each week, we aim to unite a lucky animal with the perfect forever family, and this week, a Fall River poodle mix hopes to find a home where playtime and belly scratches are in endless supply.

Meet Sirius. Sirius is almost two years old, weighs about 70 pounds, and is a poodle mix at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River.

Sirius is a very happy puppy. So happy, that he needed surgery on his constantly wagging tail.

"His tail never stops wagging and he was always smacking it on things in the process," said the shelter.

Sirius is a gentle giant. He may start off shy, but it doesn't take long before he blossoms into the silly puppy that he is.

Sirius is a big supporter of belly rubs and loves any and all toys. He is a lively dog, so his future family should be prepared for high energy and lots of play time.

Sirius does well with other dogs (as long they can handle his energy) and he would most likely do well with dog-savvy cats.

Does Sirius sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Forever Paws online and click 'adopt' to download the application. Once complete, email it to fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to 508-677-9175.

Sirius cannot wait to meet you.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
