Fall River Dog Hopes for a Forever Family to Love [WET NOSE WEDNESDAY]
Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk about dogs.
The love from an animal is the best feeling in the world, and if you are considering a new animal to bring home, consider adoption.
There are hundreds of animals in local shelters waiting for their forever home. With the help of these shelters, we shine a light on one lucky animal each week, in hopes of uniting them with the perfect family.
This week, we head to Fall River where a young shepherd mix is eager to meet you.
Meet Orianna. Orianna is a 2-year-old, 50-pound shepherd mix residing at Forever Paws Animal shelter. She is well behaved, great on a leash, and learns very fast. She is eager to please and loves the company of humans.
Other animals, however, make her pretty anxious, and she is reactive to other animals at the shelter. The shelter believes that proper training will improve her behavior toward others.
"At this time, it could very well be because being in the kennel in the shelter is overstimulating and she doesn't know what to do with all of that energy," said the shelter. "We've been working with her to desensitize her and she's definitely shown some progress, so if you continue to work with her, she may very well be fine with other dogs in the future."
Orianna needs an owner that is familiar with her breed and is willing to show her patience as she learns to be less reactive and grows out of her "zoomie" phase.
Overall, she's a sweet girl and has lots of love to offer to a forever home.
Does Orianna sound like a good fit for you and your family? Visit Forever Paws online and download the adoption application. Once complete, email it to fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to 508-677-9175.
Orianna cannot wait to meet you.
