Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk animals.

The love from a pet is the best feeling in the world. If you are looking to bring that love into your home, consider adoption.

There are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast waiting for their forever homes, and every week we give one of them the spotlight.

This week, we head to Fall River where a pit bull is steadily recovering after a living a life of starvation.

Meet Ladybird. Ladybird is a 6-year-old pit bull mix residing at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River. She arrived to the shelter emaciated but has already gained 8 pounds after just one week at the shelter.

"Ladybird is a shining example of the incredible perseverance dogs have and how they can adapt to situations even better than us sometimes," said the shelter. "We're unsure of her background and how she came to be as emaciated as she was, but she doesn't let it bother her in the slightest."

Ladybird is sweet, sociable, and has never met a stranger. If you give her a good butt rub, she'll be your best friend, and she always aims to please.

She's a pro when it comes to commands like "sit", "down", "stay", and "come".

Per typical bully breed rules, you must own your own home, children must be over twelve, no cats, and any other dogs in the home must be the opposite sex.

"She's proven to do well with other dogs so far and is respectful about their boundaries," said the shelter.

Ladybird is spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
