Hot Take on 20 Million Dollar Fall River Braga Bridge Lights

I have a hot take on the new Braga Bridge lights in Fall River.

Am I the only one who thinks they're just "meh?"

First off, I can't believe I'm that guy. Normally, I'm the eternal optomist. I hate it when people put down other people's projects. I tend to be someone who is a doer, so when those that don't "do" complain about others who did "do," it drives me crazy.

Why Drivers Are Feeling Underwhelmed by New Braga Bridge Light Display

I have to say, I went out of my way to take a ride over the Braga Bridge last night, and I feel like it's tremendously underwhelming. This looks like a flop to me.

Although people will take it as one, this is not intended to be a slam against the people who worked hard to make those lights happen. I know projects like that take a lot of blood sweat and tears to pull off, but I can't be the only one that wonders if we could have found a better way to spend $20 million.

Are These Fall River Lights Worth the Worth the Massive Taxpayer Cost?

When the initial Braga Bridge lights were first introduced years ago, they were billed as just the rough draft. When the actual lights were installed, we'd see the full effect of the new look for the bridge.

What do you think? Am I crazy? Are these lights worth the money?

Mayor Paul Coogan says they are people's first impression of the City of Fall River and a welcome mat to the SouthCoast.

Personally, I would have rather seen the $20 million spent renovating the Paul Revere sign. Mr. Revere would be a much more worthy welcome mat.
