Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk animals.

There are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast waiting for a forever home, and thanks to the efforts of local shelters, these animals have a fighting chance.

Every week, we give the spotlight to one lucky animal up for adoption in hopes of finding the perfect family. This week, we head to Fairhaven where a sweet dog hopes to be home for the holidays.

Meet Ash. Ash is around 3 years old and currently under the care of Fairhaven Animal Shelter. He is a mixed breed and is learning how to be the best pet he can be with the help of a loving foster family.

"As much as I wish we could be his forever home, I know the right family is out there for him," said his foster mom.

Ash loves going on walks, playing with his toys, and enjoying some peanut butter every once in a while. He's known to get excited zoomies but you can also count on him to hang out with you on the couch. He loves his people.

The ideal family for Ash is an active one with no other dogs and no young children. He is very curious about his foster family's cat, so with a few test runs, he may do well with cats.

Ash loves the ladies and takes a bit longer to warm up to men, but once he trusts you, he will be the sweetest addition to any family.

"Ash is truly a sweet, lovable, goofy dog who just needs a little patience from his humans," said his foster family.

Does Ash sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Fairhaven Animal Shelter and schedule a play date today.

Ash cannot wait to meet you.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
