This Westport food stand is taking the Dubai chocolate craze to the next level with its new Dubai chocolate ice cream flavor.

We have been seeing and hearing about Dubai chocolate ad nauseam over the last few weeks, with many local businesses creating their own versions of the social media craze. The latest take on the trend comes out of Wood's Ice Cream in Westport.

Wood's Farm, which is where the ice cream stand is located, has been around since 1900 and added the ice cream stand back in 2001 with James and Joan Wood. Their daughter Liz took over operations back in 2011.

Liz considers herself a "middle-aged millennial" so she was aware of the craze.

"I mostly go on Facebook and Instagram, so I know a little about Dubai chocolate," she said.

When Wood heard that her ice cream provider, Leiby's Dairy out of Pennsylvania, had Dubai chocolate ice cream, she knew she had to have it as an offering. She quickly committed to 20 tubs of the flavor and once that supply is gone, that's it.

"We do feature limited-time flavors and they usually only last about a week," she said.

Guess that means if you want to try this trendy flavor, you'd better get over there.

As for how the Dubai chocolate-flavored ice cream is made, take pistachio ice cream with a swirl of fudge, phyllo pieces and crushed pistachios, and there you have it.

If you haven't gotten into the Dubai chocolate craze yet, this ice cream may be your gateway.
