Going to dinner is always an option for date night, but have you ever considered dancing the night away? Or maybe you’re like me, admittedly being born with two left feet, and are sick of being the spotlight on the dance floor for all the wrong reasons. Switch up your normal routine and learn from a professional dance instructor at the Town Hall Annex Gym in Westport.

With my wedding night around the corner, I have been going back and forth about whether to sign up for professional dance lessons with my fiancé or not. For the record, he’s all about it, but for me, I’m embarrassed.

However, in a setting like Couples Dancing, when I could be surrounded by people I know, it sounds like it takes some pressure off my shoulders and my two left feet.

Dana Stewart, Recreation Director for Westport, is thrilled to be introducing programs again.

“We’re so excited to offer programs again and offer them safely,” Stewart said. “We are following all guidelines, and we feel like people so need recreation at this time. For the programs we’ve already started, you can see the joy on peoples’ faces, for adults and kids alike.”

Professional dance instructor Ryan Costa will be your teacher as you navigate the dance floor through the Tango, Cha-Cha, and Waltz.

“By the end of this session, couples will feel more comfortable dancing with each other,” according to the official Facebook event page.

Whether you’re looking for a fun date night to spice up your routine or you’re a newly-engaged couple looking to wow your wedding guests on your big night, register online for Couples Dancing at the Town Hall Annex Gym in Westport, Saturday nights from July 10 to August 21 at 4:30 p.m.
