Westport’s Lees Market Welcomes Back Stolen Bon Jovi Cutout, Now Joined by Beckham
In a hilarious turn of events, Jon Bon Jovi is back where he belongs – at Lees Market in Westport, Massachusetts. The life-sized cardboard cutout of the rock legend and his son Jesse Bongiovi, which had been stolen in broad daylight on September 10th, had been replaced early Monday morning, September 30th. The return of the cutout, which had been promoting the duo’s Hampton Water wine, brought some added star power to the scene.
Announcing the surprise comeback on social media, Lees Market shared the news with a playful post:
The original theft, caught on surveillance cameras, involved a pair of fans who couldn’t resist walking off with the display in what Lees Market humorously called a “blaze of glory.” While the market decided not to press charges, they shared the story online, using Bon Jovi lyrics and good-natured humor in the hope that the rockstar duo would eventually make their way home.
Now, not only has Jon returned, but he’s brought along some extra star power in the form of David Beckham. The unexpected addition has the staff at Lees Market jokingly considering protective measures to prevent future celebrity kidnappings. The comment section quickly lit up with suggestions from fans who humorously proposed adding GPS trackers or Apple AirTags to the cutouts in case the stars decide to take another unplanned exit.
It's safe to say- Lees Market is thrilled to have its wine section back to full star-studded glory. For now, the business can finally stop "Livin' On a Prayer" and enjoy its reunited displays.
