West Island Getting Ready For 5K

It's warming up in the Southcoast and West Island is taking advantage of it with their annual 5K. 

The West Island 5K Run/Walk in Fairhaven is USA Track and Field Certified that is made up of mostly flat course with a fast downhill start and a challenging uphill finish.

Each mile will be marked and timed. A water station will be fully stocked at the 1.5-mile point.

All proceeds go to the Fairhaven High School Cross Country program and to the non-profit, Strive and Achieve 

Entry fees range from $15 to $25 and a Kids Mile Run with an entry fee of $5. The fiirst 600 5k registrants will receive a free t-shirt and all Kids Mile entrants will get a neoprene wrist band.

Racers can register and pick up their numbers at 41 Causeway Road, Fairhaven, MA on Saturday, April 23rd from 1-4 PM or late registration on Sunday, April 24th from 9-10;45 AM. The race will begin at 11:00 AM sharp and the Awards Ceremony and Raffle will begin post race at 12:15 PM.

Cash prizes will be given to the top three overall Male and Female finishers & Male and Female course record holders.
