We've visited a lot of Little League snack shacks with our "Little Big League" tour.  We think we may have found the best snack shack on the Southcoast.  It is located behind the MattyOliveira Memorial Field, Field 5, on Shaw Road in Fairhaven.

Nancy Moniz is from Fairhaven, and she leases the snack shack from the league.  In addition to selling the normal snack shack fare like hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and candy...Nancy took it a step further.  She decided to cook homemade food and sell it to the crowds of families that gather night after night to watch their children play baseball.

"We figured since they're here, they should have real, homemade food available to them," says Nancy.  It is reflected on the chalk board in front of the shack, "Homemade takes time" is lovingly written on the board.  The menu includes a grilled chicken salad.  We tried the cocoila sandwich.  Gazelle says it was on par with what you'd eat at the feast.  We ate linguica, peppers and onions.  Amazing.  We tried the chicken mozambique subs, the fries...and even real ice cream for dessert!  The prices are extremely reasonable.  We just might become regulars at the games...whether or not we have kids playing!
