Do you believe in karma? I sure do. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around, and Maureen Hayes of Wareham discovered that good karma can also lead to good luck, too.

Maureen decided to share her latest experience of karma to a local Facebook group, explaining that she doesn’t typically buy scratch tickets, but on this particular day she did.

“I went to my corner market and bought my usual $20 in items,” she said. “I bought 10 two-dollar tickets.”

When Maureen returned to her car, she counted her change and quickly realized that the man behind the counter had given her too much money back.

Maureen could have just put the money back into her wallet and driven away with her loot. Instead, she said, “No I could not. I explained that a mistake was made, and I owed him 10 dollars…He was so grateful.”

Maureen left the corner market with her head high, knowing she did the right thing, and didn’t expect anything in return.

But that’s the beauty of karma. What goes around comes around, and good luck was about to come her way. After scratching away on her scratch tickets, she realized that she had won $105.

“Kindness pays off,” Maureen remarked.

Is it possible that she could have made off with the wrong change and those winning tickets? Maybe. But believers in karma, like myself, know that something negative would have been waiting for her right around the corner.

If you do good things, good things will come to you, and Maureen’s “good thing” made her $100 richer.
