Beach towns from Maine to Rhode Island and Cape Cod are on the list but only the best of them this time.

Every few years Yankee Magazine puts out its Top 25 list of New England's best beach towns and this year's list is the best one yet. There are many on the list I've never heard of, which surprises me because I'm a huge fan of beachy New England towns. Ogunquit, Maine was the No. 1 beach town this year, and having been there myself, I have to agree. My husband and I spent a weekend in Ogunquit and we LOVED everything about it: the hotel, the ocean view, the dining, shopping and the long walk along the ocean we took one afternoon. It's just beautiful there.

Both Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket made the list, and so did Provincetown on Cape Cod.

Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard is No. 6 and one of my family's favorite new places to vacation. We went for a weekend this past June and fell in love with this little town and its South Beach.

Provincetown was No. 2 behind Ogunquit. One of the most beautiful ocean views there is for sure and the town itself knows how to have a good time. Provincetown is a huge tourist attraction for people from all over the world.

Nantucket also made Yankee Magazine's list at No. 3, which is no surprise to me. If you've never been, add it to your bucket list. My tip would be to wait and go in the fall, when it's less busy and just as beautiful!
