Take Part in this SouthCoast Scavenger Hunt
Summertime calls for adventure and children are ready for some fun. The kids had a tough year adjusting to learning from home, but now it’s time to leave the makeshift classroom and head outside for summer exploration. The Mattapoisett Free Public Library has put together a scavenger hunt that encourages outdoor activities and offers exciting giveaways, creating fun for the entire family.
The Mattapoisett Free Public Library created this scavenger hunt to help you get outside and explore. They compiled a list of SouthCoast activities for friends and family to enjoy, like playing leapfrog at Ned’s Point or visiting Salty the Seahorse. For each completed activity, you receive a raffle ticket for one of many incredible prizes. You could win gift certificates to Nick’s Pizza, Oxford Creamery, and The Slip.
Create a team and tackle the adventures with your friends or schedule out some “me time” and complete the tasks on your own. The scavenger hunt lasts all summer long to help make the most out of your summer. MFPL states that proof is not necessary, but highly encouraged. Show off your acting skills as you pretend a meteor is about to hit earth at Eel Pond and share your experience after you check out a metal detector at the library and find something cool!
In a press release, the library states that "If you are more interested in something less social, we also created a Bingo Sheet. The Bingo Sheet functions the same way, each task you do earns you a raffle ticket. If you accomplish four tasks in a row, you will get an extra five raffle tickets, so it is very important for us know what tasks you have done."

The deadline to submit tasks will be August 28th at 5PM. The winners will be announced on Saturday, August 29th.
