We all love Halloween here at the station - the yummy food, the spooky decorations and we live in one of the best places on the Southcoast for Halloween activities...Including the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo!
I love this area when Fall comes around. The leaves change to gorgeous colors, and if you look hard enough, you can find apple picking and pumpkin patches all over the Southcoast. We decided to visit Silverbrook Farm yesterday with our son John.
What a great time my son and I had at the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular At Roger Williams Park Zoo. I have never seen so many pumpkins, and the detail of the carvings were unbelievable.
Back in 1984, The All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off began at Topsfield Fair and in that year, the winning pumpkin, grown by Wayne Hackney of New Milford, CT, weighed 433 pounds and he was awarded $100 bucks. Now, the pumpkins are much bigger and heavier.
Despite it having been around for quite a few years, this was the first time I'd visited the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at The Roger Williams Park Zoo, and I loved it!
