Last Thursday was opening night for the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence!

The RW Zoo did not disappoint, they had a fab display of pumpkins, with this year's presentation titled “Jack-O-Lanterns from A to Z.”  It included a section of carved pumpkins in alphabetical order, highlighting different time periods from history and pop culture, and even included a Christmas display accompanied by Christmas music.

They also had a legends display, featuring stars that we unfortunately lost this year, like Joan Rivers, Robin Williams, Sophia Loren, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The rain ended up holding off until after we had walked through the 5,000 illuminated pumpkins, but it was a bit chilly on opening night, I was glad I remembered a jacket.

Some of the pumpkin carvings were so detailed, I thought it must have taken HOURS to get the pumpkin to look that way!  Here's a few examples of the beautiful, detailed carvings:

Right before the end of the spectacular, we saw a Michael Rock favorite...a Tom Brady pumpkin! I snapped this pic and sent it to him of course.
