Swansea Student’s Ice Cream Wins Flavor Contest
Fourth grader from Brown Elementary Jennifer Benefito, is this year's winner of the Name the Flavor Contest.
According to the Herald News, Benefito won the contest with her brand new concoction of coconut pineapple ice cream. The contest started three years ago and is organized by Swansea Police officer Sheila Valero. It is apart of their Adopt-a-Cop program and is sponsered by the Ice Cream Barn.
There were 890 entries, but the winning ice cream flavor was Case coconut and pineapple ice cream. The runner-up flavors were strawberry rhubarb pie ice cream and Holy Elementary Monkey Business (banana ice cream, fudge and Oreo cookie).
The winner and runner-ups ice cream flavor are being served now at the Ice Cream Barn.
