The man was bitten by the shark as he reeled it in while fishing off of Cape Cod.
According to The Boston Globe, the 34-year-old man from Swansea was fishing on Menauhant Beach late Thursday night when the incident happened.
Police say he was reeling in a brown shark and as he tried to unhook it to snap a photo with his catch, the shark bit his right foot.
Rescuers were called to the scene just before 11:30 p.m. and they took the fisherman to Falmouth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The shark was reportedly six-feet-long and was released back to the ocean after the bite.
