New Bedford woman's vehicle that was stolen from the Fairhaven Planet Fitness last week has been located.

Michelle Pimental said she was both relieved and angered when she got the call that her Toyota Corolla had been found by the Wareham Police Department. The bad news? Although she got her car back, her valuables were gone.

The female suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested in the parking lot of the Wareham Lowe's after she allegedly tried using a stolen bank card at a nearby Target. That tipped off the owner of the card and the police.

Pimental's missing car was soon surrounded.

According to a police report Pimental saw, at the time of the arrest, the suspect had multiple allegedly stolen credit cards and bags of items she had recently purchased.

"It took all day to get my car back and when I checked it out when I got to the tow company, she had stolen every little item out of my car, leaving nothing behind including my purse, ID and bank cards," Pimental said. "She ripped the emblems off my car and switched the plates on the car to Rhode Island plates that she got at a junkyard and also had a second pair of Rhode Island plates in the back."

Pimental wants to thank those who helped her out in one way or another.

"I greatly appreciate it," she said.
