Sakonnet Vineyard Celebrates 50 Years With Wine and Fun
It's not often that I make plans for a Friday night. Let's be honest, ordering in and staying in sweats is pretty tempting after a long work week.
However, this past Friday, all that changed when I was invited to Sakonnet Vineyard.
The weather was perfect for a night outdoors. Plus, winding down with a glass (or two) or vino was the perfect end to the week.

Spending Time at Sakonnet Vineyard
The whole family came along for the trip. My husband and two children, ages four and six, took the drive to Little Compton, Rhode Island.
Just a short drive down a winding, stone path, you are greeted by a stunning view of the vineyard, tasting room and more.

We did a lot during our visit; from the giant Jenga and lawn games for the kids, to the tasting and a perfectly-timed sunset, it was a great evening.
Celebrating 50 Years at Sakonnet Vineyard
Sakonnet Vineyard is celebrating a milestone this year: the big 5-0!
Its property spans nearly 170 acres, with 30-plus dedicated to growing grapes. Sakonnet has been producing some spectacular wines for decades.
From its signature Vidal Blanc to a fruit-forward rosé and my husband's new favorite, the Pinot Noir, you really can't go wrong.

Sip and Savor
Our bartender Matt provided us with some great information throughout our tasting and even opened my eyes up to some varieties that I probably wouldn't have tried on my own.
We then took some frosé (frozen rosé) to go and toured the vineyard. The property is vast and management works hard caring for the land and doing its part to constantly improve the product.
Family-Friendly Fun at the Vineyard
Guests are welcome to bring children and even dogs (as long as they are leashed and friendly), making it a perfect family destination.
While there, enjoy the grounds, a wine tasting, wine by the glass or bottle, and seasonal menu items from the kitchen.
What to Eat at Sakonnet Vineyard
Sakonnet has some delicious charcuterie boards, salads, small bites and more. My kids loved the chocolate chip cookies.
Safe to say, we'll definitely be visiting again soon.
Cheers to 50 years!
