It’s been almost three decades since we first fell in love with magic of Disney’s Hocus Pocus. A sequel has been rumored for years, and now the timeline is set to begin its production, with Rhode Island listed as a destination for a filming.

Hold on to your broom sticks: are Winifred, Mary, and Sarah bringing their witchcraft to the Ocean State or is it just a bunch of hocus pocus?

DisInsider, a website dedicated to exclusive news on all things Disney, seems to think that Rhode Island will be the backdrop for some scenes. The popular blog filled fans in on some juicy details about the return of the Sanderson Sisters, reporting that production will begin October 5 under the working title Candles, and the project “is expected to film in multiple locations including Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Los Angeles.”

Sistahs, tis’ time to get excited for the fall of 2021.

Friday afternoon, the blog released even more details, stating that the sequel will revolve around an aspiring witch named Becca who accidentally summons back the Sanderson Sisters on Halloween.

An official report from Disney has yet to be released on the specific filming locations, but if DisInsider’s sources are correct, Rhode Island will be extra spooky this fall.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as the iconic Sanderson Sisters, and as a '90s baby that continues to watch Hocus Pocus every single Halloween season, I cannot wait to see the next chapter of the story, and the next spell that Winifred's book cooks up.
