When I first heard the chatter that Sarah Jessica Parker was teasing a new project in the works, I was hoping it was another round of Sex in the City.

But it turns out, it's something even better.

I started to think that something was up when Miss Parker made this post on her Instagram right after Halloween.

Halloween 2019 One for the books. X, SJ

I'm a BIG fan of Hocus Pocus. The girls are legit living legends. I'm starting to see lots of chatter online that Hocus Pocus 2 is in the process of being penned as I'm typing this. If you look in the comments of this Instagram post, you will see a comment from Sarah herself stating that all three women are on board for a sequel.

While no official announcement has come out from the production company to confirm that this is in the works, it appears the world is ready for it. It will reportedly be released not on the big screen, but on the new Disney+ streaming service. That service is set to launch Nov. 12, but a Hocus Pocus sequel likely wouldn't be ready until maybe around Halloween 2020.

Now I'm not going to get my hopes or yours, but my experience with sequels are that they are never as good as the original. It's been almost 30 years since the release of Hocus Pocus, so a whole new generation will need to be introduced to these three witches and I'm sure CGI technology will play a role now.

I'm definitely curious as to how they will pull all this together. Regardless I'm thrilled to know that all three girls – Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, the original witches – will all be on board when this sequel hits our TV screens and streaming devices.
