Remember When ‘CSI: Miami’ Shouted Out Fall River? [VIDEO]
The chances of a national TV series shouting out a local SouthCoast city are rare, but low and behold, the impossible happened.
If you were not a die-hard fan of CSI: Miami, then perhaps you missed the episode where Agent Tim Speedle mentions Fall River, Massachusetts. If so, I have the recap so you can relive those epic moments of local glory.
In Season 02, Episode 18 titled "Wannabe," a young man by the character name "Wally" is an impostor CSI agent who collects weird knick-knacks that were (supposedly) used in murder cases or crime scenes.
When Speedle, Wally and a police officer enter his "shrine" of murder weapons and such, the officer picks up a random ax in which case Wally responds:
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, be careful with that!" -Wally
"Is that really Lizzie Borden's Ax?" -Police Officer
"Cost me 15 grand." -Wally
"Well, you should get your money back, because the real ax doesn't have a handle on it." -Speedle
What a win for Fall River! I mean, the ax murders of Lizzie Borden are historical, it's no wonder that in an episode such as this, she got a shout-out.
The EPISODE first aired back on March 22, 2004, but continues to come back around in rotation. CSI: Miami ended its 10-year run in 2012, with a total of 232 episodes.
