Hate Parking In Fall River? Changes May Be Coming Thanks To New Initiative
Parking in downtown Fall River can be frustrating, and the City of Fall River gets it.
Changes may be coming to the parking situation around high-traffic areas, and the first step is a parking study conducted by the City of Fall River’s Engineering and Planning Department.
Downtown Fall River Parking Study
The city’s engineering and planning department is initiating a comprehensive parking study to address the existing condition and future needs for parking in the downtown area. According to an official statement, the study will focus on major corridors such as North and South Main Streets, Bedford Street, and adjacent streets of the Fall River Government Center.
The parking study will cover everything from public and private parking areas to on-street parking, surface lots, and parking garages.
"As the city continues to invest in revitalizing its downtown to better serve property owners, residents and visitors, it acknowledges that sustainable development relies on effective parking strategies,” said the City of Fall River. “An effective parking management plan, designed to optimize current parking resources without compromising the character of the down, is essential for supporting the area’s long-term success."
