The Red Sox have their 3rd manager in 3 years.  John Farrell, the Red Sox pitching coach under manager Terry Francona from 2007-2010, has been signed to a multi-year deal, reportedly through the 2015 season.  He has compiled a losing record as manager of the Blue Jays over the past two years (154-170).  The 50 year old Farrell was still under contract to the Blue Jays.  It is not yet clear what the Red Sox will be giving up in compensation to Toronto.  The division rival Blue Jays reportedly wanted at least one Major League ready player.  Toronto had previously asked for pitcher Clay Buchholz.

Farrell will be introduced at Fenway Park on Monday or Tuesday.
