Spring is officially here and as the weather slowly starts to warm up, SouthCoasters are starting to think ice cream.

There are literally dozens of local ice cream shops across the region, but only one with numerous locations.

Tom & Jimmy's started as a single Taunton ice cream shop back in 2008, but since 2020 it has been growing, and this season it will open its fourth location in the area.

It has been weeks since Tom & Jimmy's gave social media fans the news that a fourth ice cream shop was coming in 2025.

Photos of the new location's menu board sparked conversation about where this Tom & Jimmy's would be, and fans guessed correctly that the beloved ice cream shop had taken over the old Slappy's Frozen Treats at 534 Broadway in Raynham.

This isn't the first time Tom & Jimmy has taken over another ice cream shop, either.

Back in 2022, when Peaceful Meadows closed for good in Middleboro, Tom & Jimmy were there to "scoop" up the property and keep ice cream coming year-round at the Grove Street location.

Now the pair are doing it again in Raynham.

After Slappy's closed in 2024, Tom & Jimmy's had a perfect opportunity to grow yet again.

The shop was already set up to serve ice cream; Slappy's had served Gifford's just like Tom & Jimmy's does, and people were used to getting their summer treats there already.

Now, the familiar pink colors are on the side of the building, the menu board is out and opening day is closing in.

The new Raynham Tom & Jimmy's was expected to open in April, but the owners say they could be serving there as early as the end of this week.
