‘Sopranos’ Star Spotted in Providence Filming New Movie
Movie magic has returned to Rhode Island.
The Sopranos star Federico Castelluccio was spotted at the infamous Olneyville New York System in Providence as he joins the cast for a suspense thriller coming to Amazon next year titled Death Comes Calling.
Death Comes Calling Coming Soon
Michael Hopkins, the film's co-producer, shared the details of the latest project coming out of Rhode Island.
Written and directed by Stew Replogle, the film is about a young girl named Jessica who loses her mother, leading her to tough teenage years. After a prank gone wrong, the girl dies and returns from the dead to kill all the people who caused her death.
Castelluccio plays a paranormal investigator alongside Hopkins as they attempt to get to the bottom of what happened to Jessica.
Horror Movie Filmed at Olneyville New York System
While much of the movie was shot in Massachusetts, Olneyville New York System in Providence served as the backdrop for a few scenes and Hopkins was thrilled to incorporate a Rhode Island staple into the movie.
“It’s just been a staple in my family for over 50 years,” he said. “It was an honor and privilege to film there. Greg Stevens, the owner, was very nice and we were also able to include Nick Baroos, a longtime employee and manager, into the cast.”
Some “hot wiener” humor makes it into the movie involving Castelluccio and some ketchup. If you know, you know.

Sopranos Stars Team Up Again
Castelluccio got his big break with The Sopranos series, but all that fame hasn’t changed his kind heart.
“Federico is a very kind soul, hard-working man, and dear friend to me,” said Hopkins. “He’s an amazing artist both on screen and when working with paintings.”
Castelluccio will be joined by a few old coworkers in the film. John Fiore and Artie Pasquale from The Sopranos will take part in the film, as well as other stars such as Allie Colleen, Lhana Richard, Lenny Clarke, and Scott Ross from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
Keep an eye out for Death Comes Calling at the Boston Film Festival in August and on Amazon in the fall of next year.
