In 2018, mental health is a well-researched subject. Many people from young kids to elders have a mental illness, but mental health in veterans are not often discussed.

Many veterans are diagnosed with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Christopher Paiva and David Stone will be presenting an educational event that will highlight the warning signs, interventions, and diagnostic approaches. The topics will focus on language, content and desired outcomes with a veteran patient who has been diagnosed with a mental illness.

Christopher Paiva is a nursing supervisor at Southcoast Behavior Health and Adjunct Nursing Clinical Psychiatric Instructor at BCC, and David Stone has clinical experience and extensive training in the behavioral health field and has experience in the military.

This event will be free of charge and will be held on  Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Southcoast Behavioral Health Hospital at 581 Faunce Corner Road in North Dartmouth, MA, 02747. The schedule will go as follows:

2:00pm- Registration & Veteran Resources

3:00pm- Presentations
