Practical Magic: Wizarding Experience On the SouthCoast This Fall
There have been a number of immersive escape challenge events on the SouthCoast over the years, but we think the one arriving this fall will be the biggest yet.
That's because it's a Witchcraft & Wizardry event that's giving us serious Harry Potter vibes.
Sure the folks at CluedUpp Games technically can't say 'Harry Potter', but all know what they mean when they bring their Murder By Magic event to New Bedford, Newport and Providence for October 2023.
The local events are perfectly timed for the Halloween season with New Bedford and Providence the challenge event throughout their respective cities on Saturday October 21 and Newport playing host the following Saturday on October 28.
All the events will follow the same plan, teams of 6 adults embark on an outdoor adventure where they "become detectives in a magical murder mystery set in a realm of sorcery and spells."
You have to hunt for clues, solve puzzles and find hidden secrets throughout the city in the allotted time to try and solve the magical, murder mystery.
It all sounds super fun and exciting, and the best part is that kids can join the team for free!
You're also of course encouraged to dress up and show off your wizarding side with robes, scarves and even pointy hats.
It's sure to have local Muggles scratching their heads this October when teams of wizards start roaming town.
CluedUpp.com says each challenge takes about 2-3 hours and can be played with teams of 2-6 adults (and additional kids teammates signing on for free). Events take you to about 20 sites throughout the city they're played in, so make sure you wear some comfy shoes!
