A Plymouth couple is making waves with their brand-new business that combines the excitement of a party bus with the accommodations of a luxurious Airbnb. They are called Skoolie Inc. Events and they bring the adventure wherever the party calls.

How Skoolie Inc, Events Came to Be

The Skoolie Luxury Party Bus wasn’t always the plan for Matthew and Ellen Collard.

“Originally, we wanted to purchase (a luxury bus) and do an Airbnb on our property in Plymouth. That’s actually not allowed in Massachusetts,” Matthew Collard said. A campground is the only legal place to have an inhabited RV.

But Matthew and his wife weren’t going to give up that easily. They decided to purchase a luxury bus, and since Labor Day weekend of 2022, the Collards have been hosting exciting experiences for groups looking for a good time.

What is a Skoolie?

A “Skoolie” refers to a school bus that has been renovated for other uses. It’s a movement that has attracted a community of people. Typically, people are looking to live in a Skoolie to take advantage of a more affordable lifestyle, but for the Collards, it’s all about luxury for their guests.

The interior has a modern feel with neutral tones, tasteful décor, high-end amenities and plenty of sitting room. It even has a fireplace, full stove, bed and shower.

What Kind of Events Does Skoolie Inc. Do?

“You dream it, we create it,” Collard said. Skoolie Inc. Events is all about bringing ease and comfort to celebrations.

“If you rent a typical party bus or even a limo, you have no bathroom or supplies or anything,” Collard said. “We have it all.”

Most recently, Skoolie Inc. treated groups to a holiday lights tour, making stops at places including Edaville and La Salette Shrine. Come summertime, it will be trips to places such as Nantucket, Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard.

Skoolie offers custom tours as well as packages that have the fun planned out for you, ranging from $1,750 to $3,000.
