Plans Advance For Medical Marijuana Sites On The Southcoast
The Colorado company, AmeriCann, Inc., plans to build the Massachusetts Medical Cannabis Center on a 52-acre site in Freetown's business park after announcing 6.6 million dollar plans.
According to The Standard Times, plans for two medical marijuana facilities on the Southcoast as AmeriCann announced plans for investments totaling more than $6.6 million, in a future dispensary in Fairhaven and a future cultivation site in Freetown.
Both locations could open by February 2017 if development moves forward as planned, AmeriCann CEO Tim Keogh said.
AmeriCann plans to loan up to $2.5 million over five years to Coastal Compassion, which since 2012 has been working to develop a medical marijuana dispensary in Fairhaven. The company plans to start construction in Fairhaven within the next week or two in the old lottery building off Alden Road.
