Seekonk BBQ Smokehouse Gets a Visit From NFL Star Patrick Chung
When New England Patriots fans think of classic hard-hitting defense, Patrick Chung instantly comes to mind.
But on Sunday, the three-time Super Bowl champion traded his helmet for some hearty smoked meat at Triple S Craft BBQ in Seekonk, and gave one local pitmaster a day he’ll never forget.
Triple S owner Scott Beland, a Pawtucket native, said the visit came as a total surprise.
“I’ve been watching this guy win Super Bowls for years,” Beland said. “And now he’s standing in my shop ordering ribs. Wild.”
A Surprise Visit With A Mighty Appetite
Chung stopped by unannounced over the weekend, sampling an all-star spread that included ribs, pulled pork, chicken wings, burnt ends, and the restaurant’s signature pork belly pinwheels, a slow-smoked spiral glazed in raspberry chipotle.
“He ordered everything,” Beland laughed. “We just laid it on him.”
A Super Bowl-Worthy Meal
The best part? Chung loved it so much, he came back later, this time bringing his Super Bowl rings along for the ride.
Beland, who opened Triple S just four months ago after growing from a backyard smoker to a food truck and finally to a brick-and-mortar, named the business after his three children: S.J., Silas and Stella.
“Triple S is all about family,” he said. “Good food, good price, no bull. That’s how we do it.”

A Big Moment for a Small Town Business
Beland called the visit “a humbling experience,” one that energized his young team and cemented the little Seekonk smokehouse as a must-try stop for locals — and apparently for NFL royalty, too.
