Party City Is Back

Don’t call it a comeback. Party City has been here for years, but then it went out of business in 2024 and 2025. There is some good news, though, for those of you who love to host and decorate for parties.

New Locations Coming To The SouthCoast

Put on your party hats. The party store is announcing that it will be opening in a number of new locations, including Fairhaven, Fall River, Wareham, Seekonk, Plymouth and more. The resurgence is part of a partnership between Staples and Party City.

Why The Partnership Makes Sense

Staples has been chugging along in a business market that does not place a high premium on office supplies the way it once did. The company can likely give up some store space without too much of a downside. Considering the office supply business continues to shift from brick and mortar to online ordering, the agreement makes sense.

What Party City Will Focus On

The items Party City will focus on are not necessarily ideal for online ordering. Things like helium balloon bouquets, posters, banners and yard signs are not easy to ship, making in store shopping more practical for customers.

What Comes Next

According to a press release posted on Staples.com, the two companies are kicking off the strategic partnership with 700 stores. Party City has plans to expand the partnership to even more locations by the end of 2026.  We will have plenty of choices where to buy balloons here on the SouthCoast for the foreseeable future.
