As more clearance signs fill the windows, I've become quite intrigued as to what you can still find among the aisles...so I went.
Honestly, I was expecting slim pickings, but it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, plenty of shelves were empty and the iconic balloon wall behind the registers was bare, but there were still plenty of items available.
If you have a child's birthday party coming up, it's definitely worth the trip.
The birthday party aisles were stocked with napkins, plates, decorations, party favors, even pinatas that were anywhere from 60 to 80 percent off.
I even found a generic 'Happy Birthday' sign to replace a broken one of mine for just two bucks.
My daughter is really into dress-up right now, so when I spotted this cowgirl costume for a few dollars (rather than almost $40) I grabbed it.

How about tissue paper for 60 cents? Yup, snagged that too. As well as a generic roll of birthday wrapping paper for $1.80.
Next up, some items for the Easter basket including doodle boards and pinwheels that were all under a dollar each.
It wouldn't be a trip to Party City without spotting an assortment of random items as well like a Santa belly, a bloody axe, some "new dad" suspenders (lookin' at you, Gazelle) and cocktail napkins to show your love of sports teams you know nothing about.
I must say, I enjoyed this recent trip to Party City in Dartmouth. I got a box full of items for $30 and saved almost $100.
Plus, I spoke with an employee who informed me of their final day. So if you want to see what hidden treasures you can find, make sure you go in the next few weeks. Party City Dartmouth closes March 25.
