Run clubs have been popping up everywhere. If you have jumped on the trend, you have for sure seen, heard about or even bought the very popular athletic shoe called Cloud, by a company called On.

I'll admit it, I fell for the hype of On Cloud running sneakers and you can definitely catch me running the Fairhaven bike path with my two-year-old Cloud shoes. They are not cheap, but they certainly get lots of praise from avid runners.

Recently, I was thinking it may be time to get a new pair, but the price made me apprehensive. Then I found out some of these shoes are actually involved in a class action lawsuit.

What’s the Lawsuit Really About?

To keep it short and simple, someone decided it's worth pursuing a lawsuit for the "embarrassingly squeaky" sounds the shoe is making as they walk and run in them.

Here is a video that has gone viral on TikTok:

The suit was filed earlier this month and online forums have had a field day. In my opinion, this isn't a case and will be quickly thrown out. Is it just me or do we not try on our shoes at the store? Or if we get them delivered, we try them on and return them if they aren't satisfactory?

The lawsuit is filed against the Cloud Tech company, which developed the technology for the popular shoes that has been marketed as an experience of running on a cloud.

Are Squeaky Shoes Grounds for a Lawsuit?

If you don't like the sound the shoe makes when you walk in them, return them, no? Any reasonable person would, and the On, Inc. company has a pretty fair return policy. I can't be the only fan of these shoes that thinks this lawsuit might be a little out there.

I also haven't experienced the sound that they are claiming happens, either.

What are the plaintiffs of this case hoping to get out of this? Free shoes?

Should You Still Buy On Cloud Shoes?

It'll be awhile before we see the outcome, but keep your receipts if you planning on buy these shoes. I swear by them, and no, I'm not getting paid to say that. I just wish I could afford to get a new pair.

Word to the wise, though: if you plan on buying some, try them on, and if they squeak, get a different pair. Simple.

Massachusetts Laws You Don't Even Know You're Breaking

There are a lot of strange laws still on the books in Massachusetts, many that also carry actual punishments and fines. Though we're pretty sure no one has been arrested for the crimes we're about to list, we're also pretty sure you have violated at least one of these laws in the last month or so.
