2014 ORR graduate Andrew Ryan recently got some amazing news, he was offered a contract to play on the New York Mets minor league team.

After graduating in 2014, Ryan went to Division 1 Umass Lowell where he struck out 223 batters over 292 1/3 innings in just four years.

In an interview with GoRiverHawks.com (Umass Lowell Sports Website), he went on to say, "I'm extremely thankful to have been given the opportunity by the Mets to extend my baseball career and live out my dream," I could not have done it without the help from my friends, family, teammates, and coaches. Most importantly, I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done for me over the years".

Ryan may have thought he was out of luck in the MLB, as he was called on the last day of the MLB Draft, but if I recall, there is a guy on the Patriots who happens to be a 5 time champion that was drafted on the last day in the 2000 NFL Draft, Tom Brady.

Regardless of how you get there, you're there, and we at Fun 107 wish you the best Andrew.
