The crash took place at around 12:43 a.m. on March 20, 2022.

Marshfield police were called to the scene of a crash in which a vehicle struck a tree at 172 Forest Ave.

Three teen boys were trapped inside the vehicle.

Croke was removed from behind the wheel and taken to a local hospital before being re-routed to Boston Children's Hospital for treatment, according to the D.A.'s office.

A second 16-year-old boy was taken to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries.

Wanderley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The D.A.'s office said an investigation found that Croke allegedly had a blood alcohol level indicating that he was intoxicated when the crash took place.

Croke was indicted on March 24, and is due to appear in court again on July 10.
