North End Shooting Sends One Man To Hospital

A shooting in the North End sends one man to the hospital.

Police say the shooting was reported around 2:40 Saturday morning.

Lt. Amos Melo says officers responded to St. Luke's Hospital on a report that a man had been shot.

The 42 year old victim had been taken to the hospital in a private auto. He was then transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

Lt. Melo says the injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

Police say an investigation shows the shooting happened outside World Famous Pizza at 1114 Acushnet Avenue, near Coggeshall Street.
