New Outdoor Concert Venue Coming to East Providence

I'm glad I moved back to the area when I did! I love going to concerts. Don't get me wrong, I love a good indoor venue but something about being outdoors and hearing a live performance is just awesome.

I just got some exciting news in my inbox this morning: LiveNation, the world's leading entertainment company, has announced they are partnering with the owners of the East Providence Harborfront at Bold Point, RI Waterfront Enterprises, LLC,  to bring Providence a new outdoor concert venue.

In a press release sent this morning, LiveNation has assured us the 2019 lineup at Bold Point Park will continue as planned.

The new venue has yet to be named but is slated to open in 2020.

William Fazioli, chairman of the East Providence Waterfront Commission, said in the press release, “We are encouraged by the expansion of the successful Bold Point concert series within our Waterfront District. This proposal advances our goals for a vibrant mixed-use development that will grow jobs and increase public access to our City’s waterfront."

While I thought the lineup this summer was pretty darn good, I have a feeling that LiveNation is going to bring a diverse slate of shows for the summers to come. I'm even more excited since Providence is a little closer and easier to get to than some of the Boston outdoor venues.
