A well-known New Bedford eatery is taking comfort food to new heights by combining the best of Portuguese cuisine with a bite-sized twist. Over the weekend, on Saturday, September 14th, Mimi’s Kitchen, located on Nauset Street, unveiled their latest special that has locals buzzing: the Portuguese Slider Sampler.

Owned and operated by Tara and Cory Gordon, Mimi’s Kitchen is no stranger to innovative menu items that push the boundaries of traditional breakfast and lunch. The couple has built a reputation for constantly changing the game with unique offerings, and their latest creation is no exception. By introducing this Portuguese-inspired trio of sliders, Mimi’s Kitchen has once again proven that they can take familiar flavors and elevate them in exciting ways- in the most simplest way possible.

The Portuguese Slider Sampler features three distinct sliders that bring together the heart of Portuguese cuisine: Cacoila (marinated pork), Bifana (Portuguese pork cutlets), and a Portuguese burger made from a savory blend of chourico and beef patties. Each slider is served on warm and fluffy Hawaiian rolls, where the sweetness of the buns perfectly balances the robust, savory fillings.

In their announcement on Facebook, Mimi’s Kitchen teased the new special: “Our new item alert is here to satisfy your taste buds! Introducing our delicious Cacoila, Bifana, and Portuguese burger sliders - a flavorful trio you won’t want to miss out on!”

With its limited availability, the Portuguese Slider Sampler is already becoming a must-try dish. Stop by Mimi’s Kitchen soon to savor this unique offering while it’s hot and fresh.
