New Bedford Man Uses Taxi As Getaway Car

New Bedford Police say a man who stole two flat screen TV's from an apartment today used a Yellow Cab to flee the scene.   They tracked the cab with help from the taxi company and arrested 33-year-old Juan Perez of New Bedford shortly after 7 a.m. today.

Perez allegedly climbed a fire escape and forced his way into a second floor apartment near Sycamore and Pleasant Street.  A neighbor saw Perez and called police.

The large TV's are being returned, and Perez is being arraigned on charges of larceny and breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony.
