This story gives a whole new meaning to the term "Fore!"

A leisurely round of golf took a wild turn for beloved New Bedford artist Mark "Maki"  Carvalho at Marion Golf Club. What started as a typical day on the green quickly became a story too bizarre to believe.

So bizarre, that even Carvalho's friends on Facebook were calling it a load of malarkey.

Let's set the record straight.

As Carvalho lined up his shot, a chip toward the pin, he could never have predicted that his golf ball would end up rolling right into a turtle's shell on the course. The turtle, seemingly unbothered by its new accessory, stayed put, leaving Carvalho's ball stuck behind it.

Stunned by the odd encounter, Carvalho took to Facebook to share the moment with his followers, asking, "What would you do in this scenario?"

Along with his humorous commentary, he posted jaw-dropping photos of the turtle and the ball next to its shell, hoping to catch the attention of Barstool's El Presidente David Portnoy. No word on if that's happened yet.

The turtle seemed to be fine.

You can't make this stuff up.

New England Wildlife Center's Cutest Turtle Bandage Designs

If you're going to have to replace a box turtle's back end bandages every day, you might as well have fun with it. That must have been the thought behind these fruit themed bandages created by New England Wildlife Center staff.

Endangered Sea Turtles Released Back into Atlantic Ocean

The Mystic Aquarium Animal Rescue Team saw another set of rehabilitated animals returned to their ocean home recently with the release of five endangered sea turtles down in North Carolina.
One loggerhead sea turtle and four Kemp’s ridley sea turtles were the aquarium's part of a 26-sea-turtle release from four different animal rescues across the Northeast. See these endangered animals as they returned to their ocean home after months of treatment for their cold-stunning damage suffered in Cape Cod Bay.
