NEW BEDFORD — The victims of a fatal crash off Route 140 north in Freetown on Tuesday have been identified as 54-year-old Jose Amorin and 70-year-old Marinalva DeLima, both of New Bedford.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said Amorin was driving the Kia Sedona that struck three other vehicles and went off the highway into the woods at around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Both Amorin and DeLima died at the scene of the crash yesterday.

One of the other vehicle drivers also sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The D.A.'s office said that excessive speed and reckless driving was the cause of the crash.

State police said the crash took place around mile marker 10.6 off Route 140 northbound, after 911 callers alerted troopers to a black Kia Sedona driving erratically.
