New Bedford Cops Find Heroin and Cocaine Hidden In Car

Bags of the drugs were found in secret compartments in a car that was pulled over on Ashley Boulevard in New Bedford Tuesday evening.   The hidden compartments were behind the passenger seat and behind the radio.

Police found seven bags of heroin and five bags of cocaine.   They arrested 38-year-old Angel Reyes-Canchanci of Hillman Street, New Bedford, and 25-year-old Jennifer Tavera of Providence.   They have been charged with Class A drug trafficking, possession to distribute a Class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
