What do you think of this text I got this morning from my wife? It was just two words and the picture above. "To trash" she wrote at 7:21 a.m. I'm right in the middle of trying to perform my radio show, and I'm getting harassed and attacked.

The text is meant as a jab. It's her way to let me know that I somehow failed to cook $15 worth of steak tips and two packages of chicken.

Here's my question, though: is it really fair to hold me responsible for cooking the food? She's clearly insinuating that because I took the initiative to get off the couch, drive to Market Basket, brave the crowds, select the food, drive home, unload the groceries and put them away that I also have the responsibility to cook the food.

Let me be clear. I am in NO WAY saying that my wife is expected to cook. I take the lead on cooking many meals in our home. I'm just questioning the logic that just because I bought the food, I should somehow feel shame and failure for not cooking it before it went bad. I feel like we should all share that shame and failure.

Am I wrong?
