Morning Talker, Embracing The Ugly

A tree in Reading, Pennsylvania has been receiving a lot of attention for it's Charlie Brown like look and what was once a hated symbol in town is now becoming an icon.

Many of the residences in Reading rejected the tree since it looked so sparse. But now the town has gotten so much attention from the tree, that they are planning a huge festival to celebrate the 50 foot Norwegian Pine.

We spoke with our friends down at the ABC6 news room about the tree and we agreed that it was sweet looking! Not all trees can be perfectly sculpted and it can now be considered a quirky landmark for Reading. The town is planning to decorate it which we are sure will make it look beautiful with Christmas lights and ornaments.

We also spoke about ugly sweaters and how a woman in Tampa has created a whole business off of this popular trend. She was first made fun of for selling them but now said to be doing really good for herself since business is booming! Even us at Fun 107 are looking forward to our own Ugly Sweater Party on December 12!
