Massachusetts Irish Pub Will Be Built by Ed Sheeran
Ipswich is getting ready for the grand opening of a new/old pub in town, and a huge name is going to be behind it: Ed Sheeran. Ironically, the new pub has an old theme. It will be named after a new song from Ed Sheeran called "Old Phone."
Sheeran announced the plan to build The Old Phone Pub in Ipswich last night during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Ed Sheeran will make his second visit this month to Massachusetts when he visits The Old Phone pub in Ipswich. He previously visited an Irish Pub in Boston and sang "Galway Girl" with an Irish folk band at the Dubliner on St. Patrick's Day.
"It's this idea of the music video is basically the build of the pub with everyone locally," said Sheeran. "And then to get entry to it, you have to go on your old phone and find an old message that means a lot to you or a video that means a lot to you and send it in. And then afterwards, we're going to project them on the walls and stuff. It's going to be cool."
Sheeran says they'll be serving Guinness and tater tots at his Ipswich pub. A website for The Old Phone Pub was launched online outlining the beer and food that will be served.
It seems that Sheeran will ne needing use of the new pub for two days, but it is unclear about how the pub will be used beyond the video shoot or who will own and operate it.
Jimmy Fallon showed a sketch of what Ed Sheeran's pub will look like.
