Mashpee Police Close Section Of Route 28

Route 28 in Mashpee has been closed due to what's being called an "ongoing situation."

Mashpee Police are asking people to avoid Route 28 between the Deer Crossing Plaza/South Cape Village area to the Falmouth Town line.

While not providing specifics about the incident police are emphasizing that this is not active shooter situation despite some media reports to the contrary.

A notice will be sent out when traffic may resume normally.
