One of Martha’s Vineyard’s iconic “dollhouse” homes is up for grabs for any buyer who is looking to live on island time year-round.

When you get off the ferry at Oak Bluffs on the Vineyard and you stroll downtown, it’s mandatory to stop and gawk at the dollhouse cottages sitting on the hill. Rarely does one pop up for sale, but the 642-square-foot home is ready with a price tag of $629,000.

It’s a small house with big history. Kelly Garrity of Boston Real Estate explained how “the house was built in 1870’s as one of 13 houses on the 33-acre Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, known locally as ‘The Campground.’” The next owner of this “dollhouse” will be the owner of a national historic landmark.

Like something out of a story book, the home at 16 Siloam Avenue in Oak Bluffs is charming and inviting. Light blue trimming around the A-frame windows and A-frame double doors against the fresh white paneling gives it a clean look with an inviting front porch that is prime real estate for sunrises and sunsets.

RE/MAX On Island agent Helena Kirschenbaum listed the home on August 5 and calls it the “perfect seaside cottage” that is steps away from the Oak Bluffs harbor, ferries, eateries, and beaches. No need for Uber when your location is the destination.

The home comes partially furnished, but if you’re looking to redo the exterior, it may take a few steps. Due to its listing as a historic landmark, all exterior changes need to be approved by the architectural review committee to keep that dollhouse charm thriving on the island.

Let’s take a virtual tour into the unique “dollhouse” home that is up for grabs on beautiful Martha’s Vineyard.
